Clothing
According to the Islamic faith and social beliefs in Iran, it is necessary for women to be modestly covered and wear a head scarf with a long dress.
A chādor (or chādar) is an outer garment or open cloak worn by many Iranian women in public spaces; it is one possible way in which a Muslim woman may follow the Islamic dress code known as ijābḥ. Women are not required to wear these in modern days, but many like to keep the sacred tradition. The strict dress code for men in Iran prohibits short trousers and short sleeved shirts / t-shirts. Although you would not see Iranian men dressed in shorts, you will almost certainly see men wearing short sleeved shirts and t-shirts.
